The famous Swedish furniture designer Professor Bruno Mathsson created The Support Stool, and like many of his works it has become a classic.
	Bruno Mathsson, an important Swedish furniture designer, was challenged to develop the ultimate, ergonomically designed stool. Mr. Mathsson’s first step was to study human anatomy in a research project held in conjunction with Chalmers University in Gothenburg, Sweden. This research allowed him to design The Support Stool, which is unparalleled in its comfort. The stool's ergonomic design is so effective that medical professionals have embraced it. The Support Stool has been in use in the European and American markets for over fifteen years. The Support Stool is an ergonomically designed task stool, which combines unparalleled support with an elegant design. Its unique hydraulic mechanism is the core of the stool's ability to adjust to an individual's personal seating requirements. When set in "free motion", the back and seat of the stool itself can also be adjusted for height. The available shoulder support systems offer relief to the neck and back, while providing full range motion.
	The Support Stool has been engineered to alleviate the pain often caused by working in awkward positions. The fully adjustable back support and bowl-shaped seat ensure proper posture without effort.
	The shape of The Support Stool seat is tailored to conform to the bone structure of the human body. This, and the ability of the seat to tilt altering the amount of surface contact the seat has with the body, guarantees the proper fit.
	The depth of the seat cradles the posterior and positions the spine erect, while the user’s feet on the floor support assuring that the weight of the lower body. The back of The Support Stool is designed to span the 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae, naturally supporting the spine.

The ability of the back to follow the user ensures that the proper support is provided in a continuous process. Important additions to The Support Stool design are the Relax and Hydro arms - the Shoulder Support System. This system is designed to decrease stress on the shoulders by supporting the weight of the arms, thereby alleviating pain and discomfort in the neck and back muscles.
	The Relax and Hydro arms swing laterally side-to-side and telescope forward and back. The Hydro adds a third dimension through its tension-adjustable up and down motion. These arms alleviate strain, stress and tension in the back, neck and shoulders. The Support Stool is available in Swedish leather, fabric or seamless vinyl in an array of colours.
