Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust have recently installed 6 Support Stools into the Pharmacy at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. The Support Stools were recommended by the Trust’s own Moving and Handling Advisor after several employees had complained of back, neck and shoulder pain whilst working in the Pharmacy.

People who have to reach and stretch whilst seated are especially prone to these injuries as are people who use microscopes.

Back pain can lead to reduced working hours, expensive treatments, and, possibly, forced early retirement.

SUPPORT Stool stimulates movement in your lower back, keeping your muscles supple and reducing the risk of back pain.

SUPPORT Stool can be used in ‘free floating’ mode so that it follows your movements, or, it can be set in any desired position.

SUPPORT Stool is available with special armrests designed especially for medical professionals. These armrests help prevent shoulder and neck pain.
